On the 4th of December 2018, our team was invited to join the Kids In Philanthropy day at Lauriston Girls’ School. Before we went our aim was to spread the word about Parachute (what was then called Teepee), but the experience was so much more than that. We started the day by giving a speech and introducing ourselves and telling our story. Then the girls rotated in groups between the different organisations that were participating. For Parachute we did a logo and merchandise design competition. Unfortunately we had to change our name, so we couldn’t use their designs, but they were above what we had expected. Further, the support from the girls was outstanding and the way that they immersed themselves in the activity was above and beyond. We are so grateful to both Kids in Philanthropy and Lauriston Girls’ School was this experience, it is one that we will never forget.
